Magura district is in south-western Bangladesh. It is a part of Khulna division. All side of this district is very nice. It was established on 1st March 1984. Area of this district has 1048 sq km. This district is bordered by Rajbari district to the north, Jessore and Narail district to the south, Faridpur district to the east and Jhenaidaha district to the west. The Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus and Christians are lived in this district. Besides, mosque, temple, churches and Buddhist temples are religion institution.
Famous writer Forruk Ahemed, Dr. Lutfor Rahman and Sayed Ali Ahasan are birth place of this district. For this, it is very famous and traditional.

Magura district information

So, this district is much educational institution as university, college, high school, junior high school, primary school, madrasa and other educational institution. As a result, every family of this district is very cautious. Agriculture is major occupation in here. As well, commerce, service, transport, laborer and many others are profession in people of here. Few cultivated crops are paddy, wheat, jute, potato and so on. Main fruits are mango, papaya, coconut, litchi etc.

This district is main rivers such as Gorai, Madhumati, Nabaganga, Fatki, Ramsagar, Bural Baor etc. Besides, Ramsagar and Bural Baor are notable in here. These rivers are very good for products export.
Bank, insurance and NGO are economical institution. From these institutions, many poor people are benefit.
Kataaoni festive in Magura city, Gabtolar Mela and Boddia Ghordoir are main tradition of Magura district. Accordingly, people are very pleasure.

Ghat of Nadar Chand, Tomb of Pir Mokerram Ali, tomb of Gairb Shah, remnants of the Rajbari of Raja Sitaram Roy, Rajbari of Raja Satujit Roy, fortification Debal Raja, remnats of the Rajbari of Birat Raja at Sreepur etc. Tourists are come to look at every year and these places are outstanding. These attractive places are very fantastic. Foreigners are visit to enjoy that places. There are many games and sports in Magura district as cricket, football and volleyball and so on. This district is very developed day by day. Communication system is also residential.
