Meherpur district is in south-western Bangladesh. This district is a part of Khulna division. It is also the smallest district of Bangladesh. This district was a part of Kushtia district before in 1984. It was established on 24th February 1984. Area of this district is 716.08 sq km. This district is bounded by Daulatpur and west bangle (India) on the north, Chuadhanga and west-bangle (India) on the south, Chaudanga and Kushtia districts on the east and west-bangle on the east. There are lived four religions of people. Besides, ethnic people are also lived in here.
There are many educational institutions in Meherpur district as government and non-government primary school, high school, junior school, college, madrasa and many other institutions. Every year, literacy rate is increasing. Many poor people are getting light of education. Result of secondary and higher secondary is better.
