Sherpur district is part of a Dhaka division in central Bangladesh. Before it was under the Mymensingh district as a subdivision, it was established as a district in 1984. Area of this district is 1363. 76 sq km. On the north of this district are located Garo hills of Meghalaya, Mymensingh and Jamalpur district on the south, Mymensingh district on the east and Jamalpur district on the west.
