Rajshahi Division, main attraction is Rajshahi University

Rajshahi division is one of the seven executive divisions of Bangladesh. This division is situated the northern part of Bangladesh. It has an area of 18,174.4 square kilometers and population of 18,329,000 (2011 Census). The mid western corner of Bangladesh is included to 8 districts in this division. It is the famous river of Padma borders on the south and another famous river Jamuna lies across on the eastern border. This division also shares a border with Indian in the west. The most important cities of this division are Rajshahi, Pabna and Bogra. It has an excellent road and rail communication. There has an airport, but at present air service between Rajshahi and Dhaka, the government has suspended. The major educational institute of Rajshahi is University of Rajshahi (RU). Rajshahi University is a very well planned University of Bangladesh.

The most important visiting place of Rajshahi University are the Shahid Smriti Sangraha Shala, the language movement of 1952 to the Liberation war 1972 from the documents and photography’s and Borendra Research museum. This division is famous for historical places like Mahasthangarh, Paharpur Buddhist Monastery, Kantajee’s Temple, Ramshagar Dighi, Choto Sona Masjid and Puthia.

Rajshahi division districts: Bogra district, Chapainawabgonj district, Joypurhat district, Naogaon district, Natore district, Pabna district, Rajshahi district and Sirajgonj district (Total 8 district in Rajshahi Division).
